After years of hard work, we are ready to pre-open
the park to the public in December 2011!

Conservacion Patagonica still has years of work ahead before donating a fully functional park to the Chilean state: trails to build, grasslands to restore, species to recover, and facilities to construct. In the meantime, you’re invited to see this work-in-progress for yourself! You can find information on reaching the park and planning your visit on this page.

By December 2011, the car-accessible Los Alamos campground will be complete and in operation, with full bathrooms and covered cook shelters. The first trails of the park, the short La Vega loop and the longer Lagunas Altas circuit, will be marked and ready for hikers. Park visitors may hike these trails or explore elsewhere in the Chacabuco Valley. We look forward to hearing your impressions!

The acclaimed Lodge at Valle Chacabuco, open to the public for over a year, continues to host guests from around the world, offering unparalleled comfort and good design in a spectacular setting.

Park access is free and open to the public, but we ask that visitors understand that our focus remains the completion of the park. Please plan to be as self-sufficient as possible during your visit.
